American Legion – The Commander’s Corner Post 154

Once again another New Year is here and we at American Legion Post 154 hopes that it’s a good year for everyone.

There will once again be a Super Bowl party at the Post on Super Bowl Sunday. It was loads of fun last year and the food was great. Our big screen television is alive and well, so come and be with us for the game.

Our Veterans Circle of Freedom War Memorial is slowly but surely being completed. We still have a ways to go but with the help of your donations and our volunteer workers it will be completed.

The monument is in place and Old Glory is flying along with flags from all branches of our armed forces and merchant marines.

Bricks have been laid but there is still plenty of room for more. An engraved brick placed at the Monument is a great way to thank a family member or friend who served in our armed forces. Order forms are at the Post.

A reminder, our legion hall is available for rent. If you would like to have a birthday party, wedding reception or family event contact Wanda Kindrick. She can be contacted thru the post at 786-5356.

Horseshoes on Saturday nights are on hold for now but we plan to start back in early March.

Bingo is on Fridays at 8:00pm. Cards go on sale at 7:15pm and the public is welcome.  The Big Game is for $500.00.

We continue to look for new members. If you are interested in the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary or Sons of the Legion call the Post (786-5356) for information.

The Legion and Auxiliary meet on the second Monday of the month, with social hour (and food) starting at 6:00pm and the meeting at 7:00pm. The Sons of the Legion meet on the third Monday at 7:00pm.

As always, Linda or Patti will have the canteen open at 5:00pm every day except Sunday. We close on Sundays unless there is a special event.
