Peace on Earth was the theme for The God Abouts Senior Adult Ministry of Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church, Tybee Island, at their annual Christmas Candlelight Dinner Party, Saturday, December 10th at 6 PM. One hundred and eleven friends gathered to enjoy good fellowship, delicious food, and to celebrate Jesus’s birth in the beautifully decorated Fellowship Hall. The meal was provided by the ministry and Mike Hosti of Tybee Market catered a delicious meal of baked ham, macaroni and cheese, English peas, cranberry congealed salad, and dinner rolls. Sherry Hosti baked a lovely Happy Birthday Jesus cake which was served along with ice cream. The lovely and talented husband and wife duo, Adam and Gena Rusgrove provided beautiful vocal entertainment telling the glorious story of Christ’s birth. Donations were accepted and will be provided to The Salvation Army in Savannah. Over the past 6 years that The God Abouts have been having their Christmas Party, the attendees have generously donated approximately $2300 to local charities.
The next meeting of The God Abouts will be Tuesday, Jan 17th at noon at Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church, Tybee Island. The theme will be Hawaiian Luau and everyone is encouraged to wear their tropical best. This meeting will be a covered dish luncheon and attendees are asked to bring their favorite tropical dish.
